Startup healthtech company leverages fractional finance to grow fast


OPPORTUNITY

In an industry not known for fast, efficient service, healthcare entrepreneur Jon Pearce had a vision of providing clinicians a way to get patients reliable answers faster and treat common health problems more efficiently. Utilizing technology to connect clinicians to patients, Pearce created Zipnosis. And when he needed to stop “moonlighting” as his own CFO and focus full-time on leading his growing his business, he called GO CFO.


APPROACH

GO CFO’s Outsourced Finance and Accounting services provided Zipnosis a ”fractional” CFO with deep experience in the healthcare industry. GO CFO worked with Zipnosis through the company’s early-stage financings and scaled the finance and accounting functions of the company to keep pace with the company’s rapid growth. Zipnosis needed access to deep relevant experience, albeit not full time, and GO CFO’s fractional solution allowed the company to use its precious capital efficiently as it grew.


RESULTS

GO CFO served as a “Finance and Accounting Accelerator” for Zipnosis and helped the company build its own world-class finance and accounting team. In early 2016, Zipnosis raised $17 million in its first institutional venture round of financing, and the sky is truly the limit.
